HAPPY DAY.

yup. thats a mattress.

my bike with the beautiful mattress.

The cute old man only charged 20 yuan to haul it over to my place.

....and we're off!

8-8-08 was such a good day! I got a mattress! I am so thankful to Andrew for letting me borrow it from a spare room of his. Sleeping without it was starting to be really painful and I just knew that with my back, I wouldnt last until December on that wooden pad thing I had before. Andrew and I had alot of fun getting the mattress to my room. We couldnt help but crack up at the sight of the cute old man pedaling along with that huge thing on his little bike. After we dropped off the mattress we went and bought lots of fruit to snack on while we watched the opening ceremonies! Being here in China for the first time they've ever hosted the olympics has been so exciting. Watching the ceremony with a chinese family in a traditional chinese apartment will be something Ill never forget!

I really am so excited for you! You got a mattress! I also love the bike to. It looks like you are having a great time over there. You should let me know if you can find any cute purses for cheap and I will send some money.

How much did the guy on the 3-wheel bike charge you to deliver the mattress to the dance center?

If I come and stay with you, what do I get to sleep on?.....the 1" mattress that you had previously? I'll find someone to deliver me a mattress too!

Now, if they can just keep their promise and get hot water in your shower, you'll be set. I keep reminding them, but they are not the people taking the cold showers.

I am so proud of you! You are doing a great job of teaching for us!

I am starting to miss Hangzhou. I hope I can come and bring you home in November.

I could use that trip to do my Christmas shopping like I did last year. But, if I don't come early enough to China, the boxes I send home won't be here in time for Christmas. Maybe I will just have to pay for the extra bags.

Keep up the great work you are doing. I can tell the students love you!

I start my Mandarin Class in September!
